First, thank you for taking the time to participate in this evaluation.
The main purpose of this survey is to assess the quality of the work, with a focus on the following traits:
– The overall sound design
– The game audio implementation
– The effectiveness of the immersive qualities
Please scrutinise and critique the work, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses based on your expertise as a professional audio practitioner and your industry experience. While I hope to identify some causal relationships from your responses that could inform future field experiments, this is not the primary purpose. Playing the game and filling out the survey will take approximately 15 – 25 mins.
detail and Technical
I’ve taken care to ensure that logic and sequences should be working as expected, however, as I’m not a game developer, there are likely to be bugs in the game, and I advise restarting the game if it appears stuck in a loop.
The game uses WASD for player movement, Space for jump and Shift for sprint. The ESC key opens the pause menu.
This game has not been mixed to any particular loudness standard but sits at around -21 dB LUFS. It is aimed for binaural listening and may sound wrong on speaker playback.
The game has been tested on an old i7 Dell with an GTX1080 and should run OK on machines with a lower spec also.

This game simulator and its sound design is created for my MSc Sound Design Professional Practice module at Edinburgh Napier University. If you are viewing this page, it’s likely you’ve been invited to evaluate this work. However, if you’ve simply ended up here and want to contact me about this that would be awesome.
